We led a major manufacturing site reconfiguration in Poland with the objective of eliminating material flow bottlenecks, introducing automation, reducing touchpoints and removing fork lifts from the production hall and enabling 24-hour uptime.
As a result, Avon was able to remove an unachievable demand for intensive manual labour whilst doubling capacity, reduce product cost, curtail unacceptably high H&S incidents and become the template for the other corporate manufacturing mega-sites.
Due to the improvements made to site configuration as a result of our insight, consultancy and project management, Avon saw a 50% reduction in fork lift movements per shift, a key metric in highlighting site efficiency.
As well as logistics and site management improvements stemming from the location’s reconfiguration, Avon saw a direct improvement in output from the site following the project, with a 122% increase in capacity following project completion.
